Leaving your home before repossession

Just to say from research and a post I had that if u leave your home n mirtgage etc before your lender has repossessed u no longer get 6 months free council tax unless u r under benefits .. So like us who have done everything to move in feb now have this added expense we wernt expecting :-(

Being on benefits would make no difference as you cant get council tax benefit on a property you are not living in.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
CIS, please could you do a thread about these new rules and regs. please as I am now out of the loop.
I am guessing that if you didn't go down the BR route until the house was repo'd then if you didn't pay the council tax during that time the arrears would go into the BR.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
