Ford winter check for £19.99 with free £20 M&S voucher and Nectar points

I had this done for my Focus car on Friday so I thought I would let others know in case it's of any interest. With them giving you a £20 M&S voucher (plus Nectar points) it's effectively a free check up :D

"We all want to keep our vehicle protected from the very worst of the British weather. So to make sure you’re fully prepared, you can now get a comprehensive 30-point Ford Winter Check for just £19.99. What makes our winter check truly exceptional is the value you get in return – a free £20 Marks and Spencer voucher"

thanks, I think I'll give it a go. According to the blurb on that page they top up the fluid levels for free as well and I'm out of screen wash right now. Bargain!
  • My advice is to go nowhere near a Ford service centre.

Only 0.5L - the rest they charge you for.

Nectar points are only available on work completed on a Ford Vehicle
  • Are you definitely meant to get points as well? Because I had one of these and the dealership told me you could either have the vouchers or the points??

Heard this advertised by Vicki Butler Henderson on the radio. No such thing as free lunch. I imagine they'll find many bits of work that need doing to customers cars as part of this 'check up'.
  • If you look in the T&C's it states 'Your participating Ford Dealer may recommend that certain essential work be carried out on the grounds of safety before you drive your vehicle', wonder how many vehicles need work carried out for safety purposes?! lol
Though it would just be a recommendation, can't stop you taking your car away can they? Just put the frighteners on you instead

Why post that? You've obviously had a bad experience at one but not ALL Ford centres are bad.

    Happy moneysaving all.

This will be extreme cases. The most obvious example is tyres. During the winter check they see that you've got bald tyres past the legal limit - they can hold the car until you buy new tyres.

If it keeps unsafe cars off the road, then I'm all for it.

  • Probably a stupid question - do you have to have a Ford?
Can't see anything in the T&Cs to say you do...

You can get an M&S £20 e-gift card plus 38 Nectar points if you go for the M&S option.

The other option is 2000 Nectar points, which isn't nearly so good.

I had a good experience with Dagenham Motors, as I got my windscreen washers adjusted for free, they washed my car without charge and discovered a light wasn't working, so I was able to fix that (somewhere cheaper than a Ford garage) in time for passing my MOT.

The e-gift card arrived within a few weeks. Don't forget to include your e-mail address when you apply!
