managed to get it lit by holding a flame to the thermocouple but it went out after 5 seconds :rotfl: I guess the pilot light is too small to reach the thermocouple to keep the gas on, anyway to increase the pilot light height and stay legal?0

just to update the thread.
Heating back on today, just as the snow was falling
Turned out to be a partial blockage in the pilot light inlet.
Just to say thanks for the warnings not to attempt a fix myself as even though I guessed what may have been the problem (after a few guesses) it still is not just a case of wiping with a cloth, the gas man was here for a good while, so someone like me would have only caused more problems and maybe created a danger too :beer:0 -
glad you got it sorted, that's the reason i don't give advice on gas realated issuesI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
