Best Tablet for Comping?

Since I haven't won an ipad yet - !- I'm thinking of investing in a tablet to replace my worn out netbook. Are some tablets easier than others for comping? I'm thinking of things like roboform, ease of use, numbers of tabs that I can open simultaneously etc

Thanks MSE x

  • Android tablets have roboform and the windows surface runs standard windows 8 so you should be able to get it on that too money wise and android tablet is best. My phone is a galaxy note and that has it built in so im pretty sure the galaxy note 10.1 (tablet version) will too.

Very geeky but i hope that helps...
Big thanks you to everyone who posts comps...
Really wanna win an ITV comp... Maybe this will be the year!

See I wouldn't, I've tried comping on the Kindle Fire and Ipad 2 and it's just so much quicker to use a PC or Laptop!

If you are set on a tablet, get at least a 10 inch one so you can have multiple tabs up as well as different pages (the samsung galaxy 10 inch is quite affordable in comparison to an ipad I think)

I have to agree with this!

I have an ipad and had to use it to comp for a couple of days when my laptop wasn't working and it took so much longer!
  • Yeah I would stick with a laptop for comping personally. I have an iPad and use it for comping sometimes but it's not as convenient. I have Roboform on it but you have to use Roboform's own browser to use it on an iPad and it's just not as simple. Much quicker/easier on a laptop.

I won a nexus 7 in a competition and have used it since for entering competitions. I find it just as easy as my laptop. I dont use roboform, I just use Google chrome auto fill.

I use my ipad for the majority of chomping now as Its convenient to be able to pick it up and do little bits whenever I get five mins, it took some getting used, but love it now. I think a laptop is probably quicker if you are going to do a lot of comping in one go,

Just remember with an ipad you can't access most of the things that requre flash player so this limits some of the comps to you.

I use my phone (xperia s) my kindle fire and my pc equally depending on where i am

You can open multiple pages on the iPad but like stokiebecks says, you can't use flash player on an iPad. I've been using it to comp for a while now as pc is too old and I've got used to it but it can be annoying trying to type and the auto corrector comes up with a totally different word!

My DD has a blackberry playbook which has 64gb and she seems to know her way around it quickly but I have never used it so unsure what it's like for comping.
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!
  • I have a Blackberry playbook 64GB use it loads for general internet browsing and I find it really quick for entering competitions on it as can open multiple tabs and get back to main board ready to enter next comp really easily.

Not yet figured out if I can put roboform on it I just type my details in and works fine for me - but have nothing else to compare it to.

I still use laptop for entering most comps in evening when children gone to bed but if I want to do a few comps quickly during day in between life, work and kids etc I can squeeze a few in quick on the tablet without no one noticing I am on computer too much :)
  • Thank you so much for your help everyone. Having second thoughts about a tablet now ... however I had not thought of a blackberry playbook before. Will look into it.
