Homebase garden bargains

I did a quick search to see if this had been mentioned before and I apologise if it has already...

I popped into Homebase today and I picked up 4 Hyacinth Baskets.

They are really lovely ... A beautiful wicker basket with a handle with 6 Hyacinths inside.. I think I'll plant the hyacinths in the garden and keep the baskets for filling with Christmas goodies this year. They are perfect for that!

The original cost was £17.50 and they cost me £3.00

I also bought 2 Harvesting Trugs, which have herb seeds and compost. They are made of wicker and they too, cost £17.50 and reduced to £5.00.

I bought other odds and sodds, which my OM could hardly fit in the car.. but I managed!

It's maybe worth popping into see if there are any in your own area.

Cheers

I posted this onto the Gardening Board as well.

Am I being too hopeful in thinking that the baskets were 75p each rather than £3?

And are they likely to survive the cold snap this week?

No, sorry...£3 each ... but I felt it for the people who had paid the £17.50...

The baskets were actually inside the store... In the area just before going out into the garden section.. They are packaged to be given as Christmas presents.. so that bulbs haven't been planted yet. Inside the basket is a pkt of compost and the pkt of bulbs.. I'll just pop the compost and the bulbs into an ordinary container and either grow them inside or pop them out into the garden after this cold snap.

    Cheers :)
