Bags for Life (merged with I'm NOT a plastic bag)

Is it me or the push for new and exciting bags for life that can cost £200 from ebay becoming silly? My daughter made a bag at school for her textiles project. It was very easy, made from a scrap of curtain fabric (buried in the bottom drawer) and cost nothing. The pattern was very easy and easy to adapt to individual needs. Plan to make more in coming weeks for presents etc!

    Huh? £200 for a bag?
    Now that really is silly

Got mine from a shop for 20p ages ago, I did have a Harrods one which was old, my Gran used it and she passed away a long time ago but it eventually snapped.

It is nice to see people reusing bags eventually.

£200 never heard of that, searched completed listings and didn't see any either.

Cancel that bit, just looked, bet Sainsburys are loving the publicity!
One day I might be more organised...........

I think it's hilarious! Never did understand the fuss over designer labels, and the people paying £200 for a shopping bag need therapy!

I use those lovely cotton bags which are used extensively in Germany - in supermarkets you could buy them for 1DM (don't what they are now the Euro is used) and most people use them. I brought some back and use them most of the time.

Perhaps charging for each carrier bag (like in Eire and some supermarkets here) will eventually make us wake up to the waste - as well as save the supermarkets a fortune!!

Win - win situation I think!
