Local government pension and working again

Hi
I was retired through ill health in 1989 by the city council appointed GP, who said i would not work again.
I am receiving a pension which is index linked every month for life.
Would i be able to work for the Royal mail group if an opportunity arises, as i have been told that there is a list of companies i would not be able to work for if i am in receipt of the pension, Is this true,

Yes it is true, although I'm not so sure it only lists some companies. It all depends on the type of ill-health retirement that you have.
