Tesco Green Clubcard points - NOT being added

Beware - in some cases, Green Clubcard points are not being added to your total when you use your own bags. It's happened to me 3 times this month already and the staff don't even appear aware of the problem.
If eg you spend £10 and use say, 2 of your own bags - the total points earned today will show 10, not 12. The receipt does show the 2 re-used bags, but the points total is not updated.
I spoke to 3 members of staff today in my local Tesco including the customer services lady and also a supervisor but basically got no where.

they are only not added if the checkout staff doesn't manually add them, next time you're at a till make sure you remind the checkout person to add them! ive had this problem previously:eek: How did I let it get such a mess? :eek:0

twirly09 - this is a separate problem. Bag re-use DOES show on my receipt, but "Points this visit" does not show it. There is a computer glitch causing this. I know I am not the only one affected as I have read about it elsewhere. I have just emailed Tesco and await their reply.0 -

I still feel irritated that the maximum amount of green points I can "earn" is 3 per shop. I have saved/reused more then 3 of my own bags before and at if your lucky you can get 3 points at a self-service point, if your served at a proper till point you may be able to get 2 points but it's normally only 1.0

From Facebook;
We have been in touch with Clubcard, they have had technical issues which they are working on and hope to have a fix later this week.0 -
I agree, the staff always forget my green points, I didnt realise it was limited to 3 per shop though, thats a bit unfair as sometimes i've seen customers using 8 or so bagsNov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails

It is definitely not limited to 3 per shop. I once used 6 carrier bags and mentioned that to the cashier. She then to me that she had already given me 10 - very generous of her!
However, at the self-service tills, if you use more that 3 carrier bags, it simply requires a supervisor to come to check that this is the case and then authorise it.
Does anyone know if they have sorted out the Green Clubcard Points problems with the carrier bags yet?0 -
The situation still exists as of Sunday 20th January 2013. I've mentioned it at the customer service desk a couple of times; once they had no idea, (but still didn't add on my missing points.) The second time they told me it was a known bug with the clubcard system that would be rectified as soon as possible.
The last time I had green points added to my clubcard was on 31st December. The first time they were missing was on my next visit on 2nd January.
Earlier this week I rang the Tesco customer services number. The guy I spoke to repeated what I'd been told earlier: that it was a known problem and that their IT people were trying to correct it. He did assure me that any points missing would be credited to my account when the problem was rectified. (So keep claiming any points you're due for - you should get them in the end.)
As for the 'maximum three points' question. This certainly isn't the case, though the confusion may arise from the fact that on the self-service checkouts, any claim for more than 3 points has to be verified by the checkout supervisor. This is a reasonable policy, as without it, people would use the self-service checkouts to claim as many points as they felt like.
The clubcard website 'implies' now that you can only claim one point for each bag used. If this is the case, the policy has changed, since you used to be entitled to claim THREE points every time you re-used one of Tesco's own blue bags (This was even printed on the side of the bag: "claim 3 clubcard points every time you re-use this bag". We always use our blue bags, and often my wife will use her (granny) shopping trolley too. If we're filling those, we always claim three points (whether it's bag, trolley or trolley and bag) but if we don't have more items than would usually fill a carrier bag then we only claim one. We'll continue to do this as nobody has informed me personally that Tesco's policy has changed.0 -
Also be aware that if you ask for a subtotal half way through your shop you may lose out on your points as a reminder comes onto the screen at the end of the shop for staff to enter how many bags you have used, so if you ask for subtotal the reminder comes up then.0

I've also suffered from this glitch and got the same answer from Tesco when I emailed. They did credit my account with 100 bonus points to say sorry though. However when I shopped Sunday the green point was added on my receipt and was added to the total points for the shop. The same happened today - however the running total of green clubcard points at the bottom of the bill has not taken into account the Sunday bag (yet). So three possible explanations: a) The point has been added into the total, but not counted as green any more. b) The update of the running totals is a few days behind. c) whilst the credit appeared on the bill there's a further glitch in that it's not added to the total. I'll check again when I next shop at the weekend.0
