Trying to make lunchboxes more exiting and cost them at £1 per day for kids and husband,

The daily cost right now varies.

As whats on offer
what,s reduced.

I know this weekends lidls deal and next weekends look quite lunchey.

where,s there nice hand and cheese on offer?
where,s the best deals on wraps, loaves and rolls?
who,s butters on offer at moment?
where,s the best deal on fruits and veg ie salad type stuff.
where,s cheapest bread sticks?
who,s got muller crunch corners on best price?
Phili on offer or cheapest own brand alternative?

we currently buy fruit juice cartons from lidls
try get reduced bread/rolls if we can
fillings vary

value basic sainsburys creal bars or weetabix ones from poundshop.
I get vaLue sultanas and put them into little tubs who,s best value on dried fruits?
Are apples the cheapest fresh fruit?

typical lunch is

1 -2sandwiches/wrap/roll
cereal bar
1-2peices of fruit
cherry tomatoes, cucumber carrots or raisens
carton drink
yogurt.
hubby and youngest have crisps.
daughters school no crisps policy so interested in snack ajacks or healthy crunchy alternatives at good price:)

Morrisons have the Weight Watchers wraps, loaves and bagels at 67p-99p each. If you can, I'd buy reduced bread at the end of each day to save more.

I've just paid 39p for a lyles golden syrup cake,in B&M (if you have one) if you were looking for an alternative to cereal bars. You'd get at least 5 slices and probably more, so looking under 8p per slice.

Tesco have got the chewee cereal bars at a box of 9 - £1 and also kellogs rice krispee/frostie bars box 0f 6 - 99p

reduced fresh mixed fruit salad in pot 18p-co-op
reduced cherries 60p- sainsburys
warbertons square wraps 40p

Theres new b&m opened up will try there.Theres morrisions nearby too,

We have tesco metro so will pop up there in week

Could do all 3 in one day as they quite close and I can walk there:)

hubbys been lidls to get drinks, cheese, ham and apples.

I checked spar no reduced bread today, co-op dident have much off loaves so dident buy.

did get half price discovery wraps 97p slightly longer dated so useful stand by. Looked at value pitta 19p now but they never look that nice or very big and dont cut well.

So cold going to try make some pasties this week.

Waitrose organic baguette 99p, Sainsbury's SO organic baguette and Tesco organic baguette 90p each, Sainsbury's SO organic 4 wholemeal rolls £1.

Sure they must be horribly sugary but seen Nature Valley granola bars on offer in Sainsbury's last week and also seen them in Poundland sometimes.

Shorters Club has 6 Eghoyan Bakery white or wholemeal pittas for 60p and packs of 10 x6s for 5.41 making them 54p for 6 I think.

my suggestion would be save money in petrol by stop shopping around every food shop near you looking for bargains/reduced items and just buy from one shop

I have been buying dried apricots in the 99p shop, 200g, Whitworths brand, would make a change from raisins. Bananas are also reasonable and filling.

One way to save money is not buying carton drinks and using a reusable bottle with water/squash/juice.

I buy frubes or innocent tube smoothies when on offer for frubes or reduced for innocent and freeze them, then get them out and put in lunches in the morning and they defrost by snack time. Our school has a healthy lunch policy so I have to be really careful what I put in. I also buy mini salamis when on offer and stock up as they usually are dated for at least six months and give the boys those too. They love them.

Vache picon cheese triangles from B&M 59p or cooltrader between 59p and 75p or sometimes 2 for £1 if i can get them - good for calcium.

Drinks are always low sugar squash in their own bottles. They get fruit juice at home so don't need it at school.

Fruit and meats vary depending on offers / reductions.

We make bread or buy french sticks from asda (tiger sticks at 2 for £1) or get cheap wraps and freeze till needed. They love wraps.
