Did you dispute it within the 2 working days as requested by the company?

I think it sounds like a terrible company to work for. Design engineers with mechanical experience are very much in demand at the moment, so plenty of other jobs out there.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

some mortgages include personal legal cover which may help you out. I have not read the small print in the car insurance legal cover that I have and many take many take.

You haven't done anything about this yet?

Look up for your local area and see if any of the solicitors have an evening 'clinic'. Its a quick, free appointment on a arrive and wait basis and they can give you a very approximate overview of whether its worth going further with something.

However at ~6 weeks after the original issue you are running out of time to even put in a tribunal claim!

Is it too late to join a union?

If I could have found a union that covers my job 'CAD Draughtsman /Technician', then I would joined years ago.

You could try asking on here as well. Dont be put off by the redundancy title. They do offer general advice as well. SarEl is a retired employment barrister and she's brilliant. You might not always like what she has to say but she knows her stuff and she won't give you bad advice.

According to SarEl I have a case as they did not follow correct procedure, so I have put a claim in with local Industrial Tribunal.

It was okay until we got onto an approved supplier contract. We then had to bend over to keep client happy over every minor query. Even when it was an architects issue.
Assoc dir wouldn't let lit lie as they say. More a case of if you want the moon to be blue, I can make it blue.
