Buying bed online -is it safe

I'm thinking of buying a bed from mynextmattress.co.uk which will cost about £1200 but not be delivered for 3-4 weeks(because of the manufacturer), I'm concerned about paying up front, in case for example the business went bust-in these financially unstable times- I can only pay for it with a debit card- any advice? Thank you

some reviews here - both good and bad. So long as your debit card is a Visa card you should be OK, but best check with Visa before spending this amount of money.

Can you not put anything on a CC? Even £1.00 towards the deposit will give you full S75 protection for the whole purchase price.

Whilst this should work it will be much harder than S75 as "chargeback" is not legislation as is S75 and relies more on the card issuer being on the ball with regards to it,also there is a 120 day limit to make the claim, and that is assuming it is a VIS debit card.

  • I've been in touch with Nationwide - the debit card has no cover, but the mattress co. take a deposit, and then payment on despatch so will pay deposit by sons cc! thanks again!
