Flour
Sugar
Nuts
Dried fruit
Chickpeas (dry rather than tinned as cheaper)
Tuna/ sardines
Baking stuff like baking powder, vanilla, cocoa, yeast
Couscous
Oats
Passata
Lentils (dry)
Mine tends to be raw ingredients rather than mixes/ ready made stuff as it offers more options for things to make.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Stock cubes
Soy sauce
Chilli sauce
Cornflour
Dried fruits & nuts e.g. raisins, sultanas, currants, cranberries, cashews (great in stir-fries)
Dried or UHT milk
Tea bags, coffee, etc.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
- Pearl Barley
- Yellow Split Peas
- Red Kidney Beans
- Red Lentils
- Dried Marrowfat Peas
- Dried Butter Beans
- Soup & Broth Mix (though you can mix your own with the other dried goods)
- Good variety of dried herbs - unless you grow your own fresh
- Good variety of spices including some dried garlic, black pepper, dried chilli flakes, chilli powder, paprika (smoked if you like it), cayenne pepper, turmeric, curry powder, cumin, dried mustard powder
- Pudding Rice
- Ground Rice and/or Semolina
- Couple of packs of jelly
- Sugar - granulated, caster, icing, demerera plus others as and when you need them
- Porridge Oats
- Dried Potato - useful for thickening casseroles/stews in the slow cooker
- Suet
- Cocoa Powder (for baking and drinking)

I'll merge this thread with that one later to keep the ideas together.
