Yes holidays in the UK are fine. £20 per person per month is allowed to be saved towards this holiday. I'd go for £80 to include both children.

I don't have the figures in fro t of me for groceries but as you are reducing maintenance for having the child so many nights tben id be increasing the groceries to half way between 3 and 4 people.

hope you dont mind me asking but is the teenager the stepchild? if so should the phone not come out of their maintenance, also is any of the clothes money going the same way as i think that's what the maintenance should cover.

you seem to be living just to work,

its costing you £960 to bring home a £3k wage, it might be worth one or both of you trying to get a job nearer home with less hrs to cut the petrol, car parking and childcare.

I'm no expert at all but i just think its sad to see that much money go elsewhere and ive not meant to offend with my remarks so i hope i havnt. Good luck.

  • Child maintenance is already based in 3 nights a week :-( so groceries include this being the cases... Mobile is for teenager as his mum is pretty awkward n refuses to let him bring his mobile to our house ... As for work yes I no it's a lot but there no jobs clse we live in outer skirts of Durham and I work Durham n husband newcastle and to find a job closer to home would mean us both giving up careers we have studied to do .. I'm ok with the outgoings fir work as couldn't not work
  • Probably will not be allowed presents, entertainment and emergency money.
Was the child maintenance decided by the court or is it a personal agrrement?
Is the £750 rent an average for the area.
On the plus side put down holidays as above post and do you not have the internet?
  • I don't think they'll allow the Cable TV, and the groceries are a bit high.

My mate was allowed £375, for 2 adults and a child.
  • I was thinking your groceries were on the low side I have put £450 for an adult and two children.

I think a child is only allowed one extra curricular activity per week but put it under child related expenses as you are not allowed entertainment nor are you allowed presents but you are allowed a uk holiday at £20 pp so I would put £80 for that.

I am led to believe a basic sky package is allowed.

And lastly but not soa related.....How the hell do the csa work out thatfor staying at one house one more night extra a week that it costs £170 a month when the mum also gets 100% of the tax credits and child Benefit???

    Hi,

You have put child care at £168 as you do a salary sacrifice scheme.. if I am correct this tax related - you pay less on tax and NI?

If so, when you are made BR you will be given a NIL tax code, therefore this scheme would not be valid.. this is only what I think, you should look into this as may need to put Full Child care costs as if you were not in this scheme on your SOA..

My husband and I are going BR and he is signed up to a mobile allowance as he is a lorry driver - this is a tax relief scheme too so I have written on our BR form that the figure for his salary is without this scheme..

    Hope that makes sense :)
  • This is interesting as child care is £240 a month but under salary sacrifice its £168 .. So yes we'd have to put full price but ill see what OR says as if its less they get more .. As fir groceries that's the allowance we have under our current IVa so kept it the same .. £750 rent is average for a 3/4 bed in our area bearing in mind schools n not changing child about .. We live further from work to keep rent n originally mirtgage low .. As for entertainment we don't have that now but worth asking as we do it now n use other money to pay fir it such as shopping or car budget etc ... But the little bits I'm fine if they remove its nsjnly the rent, shopping etc i want to check
