I was declared bankrupt on 2nd January, I bank with Natwest and they are not one of my creditors. The account hasn't been frozern I asked permission from the OR if I could continue to use the account, it is a joint account with my husband he is not bankrupt. Does this mean that I can keep the account. I have made an appointment with the bank to this.

I think most will advise that the joint account is closed, otherwise you will be 'associated' with your OH and it could affect his credit rating.0

It is the bank's call.
As said, it would have perhaps been better if you had opened a separate basic account for yourself.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

.to add....the basic bank accounts to which the OP will now have access to, will likely only be Barclays......No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

Unfortunately Barclays are one of my creditors if Natwest closes my account my husband has an account with Santander so I guess I will have to get my salary paid into that? I guess that is okay.Lost in space🚀0
