Telling creditors you are declaring BR

Just had a phone call that caught me at a bad time, & I told the creditor I'm declaring BR. It was foolish & they do not need to know, but is there anything I have left myself open to? Is there anything they can do in the next couple of weeks before I file? I have no assets so hopefully not, but would just like to check.

They said OK, just call us on the day, when you have the BR number...

Hi, i did the very same thing, tell one of my creditors i was planning to go bankrupt. They caught me in a bad moment and although i wasnt going to say anything about my planned bankrupcy i did. they said the same to me " tell us when you have" . I didnt contact them but left it to the OR, but i didnt hear from them anyway. Just dont let them in if they do come.
Good luck for your new start

Don't worry about it: it will make no difference to anything. :) They won't do anything: there's hardly any time left before your bankruptcy anyway. Good luck with everything. xxx

If they are aggressive towards you then tell them and rub it in :)

Then post their responses here for us all to laugh at :)

The do not have enough time to do anything legally that might effect the debt/BR.

All they can do is pester you if they should feel inclined.

  • I had the same issues I told my creditors that I was declaring bankruptcy before I did, some of the creditors were okay but cap quest and Cabot were quite aggressive toward me. However when I declared bankruptcy on 2nd January this year it was very satisfying telling the above when they called me that I was bankrupt and they could basically sod off.
