Equifax credit report has a CIFAS name and address (classification 4)

Hi,
I've just got this back and there are a few things I'm not sure about:
1) There is an address which is almost the same as my previous address, i.e. has the flat number for the road number and no flat number. This was added as address #4, which I never provided. I believe that this might've been from a credit card, for some reason they set the address up wrong, but the post always got to me.
2) For my current address there is a credit card with "KINGS HILL (NO.1) LTD Credit Card <my name> (JOINT ACCOUNT)" Now I've never had a joint account and I've no idea who Kings Hill are - this has 1 "D" on the monthly status. The start date is 2001, the default date, 2005. Truly confused.
3) For my previous address, there exists a Sainsburys credit card, no defaults, but I'm fairly sure I've never had one. I just realised what this is, Sainsburys said they were going to send me a credit card which I never wanted. It never turned up and I told them that.
4) Also at this previous address is a CIFAS section, 2 entries, same name (not mine), correct address (the previous one), both entries are recorded this year, I've not lived there for 2 years. Both classifications are "04 (99)". Also the DOB's of the person involved is 01/04/78 (not the same as mine), dunno if this is a joke or what?
Does anyone know what I should do next?
Thanks,
Luke.

Hi, the Kings Hill one. Well. That is a debt collection agency. They could well have bought your debt. If its them showing on your credit file then it looks like this is th case. Kings Hill are also known as cabot. I suggest you pop over to https://www.consumeractiongroup.com. There is a forum dedicated to Kings Hill/Cabot. It will take some time to read through them all. But please take time to do so. It will be well worth it. Also start your own thread on there. You will get loads of advice on Kings hill. I take it you have a default on your file from them. Who was the original creditor. And for how much. The rest of the file i cant advise you on. But someone with a better understanding on those points should be along shortlyNight Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yup, I've had dealings with Cabot over a credit card.
That one's not yet sorted it seems, thought it was. Actually, it seems I have 1 final payment to make beginning of next month

Bet its not. Would not surprise me at all if they are still at it with this one. You need to check. Nothing would surprise me now with them. Check the account numbers on your file. Kings hill areCabot. Cabot are kings hill. Trust me on this one. Look closely at it.Night Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have you heard from kings hill or cabot at all. Even if someone has picked up your card and it has been used then be prepared for a long battle with with kings hill/cabot. Looks like you could have been the victim of identity theft.Night Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Not since last year when they caught up with me and I started paying them off. The account has been closed and I still have the card.
I'm going to contact them about just paying off the last bit and cancelling the direct debit.
As for the "joint account" bit, I've no idea on that one.
