Climbing back on the wagon - is it possible?

Hi all
After 8 months of frugality and general DFW-ness thanks to all of you fab folks - during which I've paid off so much debt - I fell off wagon last month. It started with a new laptop bag for work and hairdo (both desperately needed and both paid for via Quidco earnings) But I couldn't stop. Oh no!
From there my credit card has been taking a bashing; it was a pair of jeans and a top, then a book, then some bits and pieces from The Pier, then another pair of jeans, a new bag to replace my existing one and some shoes. Then a couple of bottles of wine as a 'treat' as I've been on leave this week. None of it has been mega-expensive (Dotty Ps and New Look) and I have needed new jeans (zip bust on 3 year old pair) but I've probably splurged a couple of hundred.
I need some reassurance that it's possible to get back on the DFW wagon after a hitch like this - what did you do to get over the guilt hump of a splurge and get back on the straight and narrow?

Goodness me, dont worry so much. You can climb back on the wagon and it wont take you long now as you seem to have paid off most of your debt. Just go for that final effort to pay them off and you will get there before long. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

Thanks - I guess I just panicked0

Hi there ...don't feel bad as you needed the items!!!...needing is when we do buy ...we don't have choice...don't feel guilty...you know you can pay it off as you have paid so much already...sometimes we do need things...you are back on the wagon already as you have addressed the issue0

Look at it like a diet. You've over-indulged so just cut down for the next few weeks until you are back to where you were.
PS everyone needs some new jeans sometime!!0 -

I find that the days when I don't come on here are the days when I spend little bits here and there. I certainly think that checking on even once a day helps me stay on the straight and narrow!!!!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Well Moozie (anyone heard?) and her cohort do have a knack of keeping everyone on the straight and narrow..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
