Hi,
I am looking for something to use on my face. As when I get hot or have a glass of wine my nose goes really red, looks like rudolph is in the building, lol. I have stated to get quite embarrased about it now.
Can any one recommend make up/foundation which is good for covering this type of thing. I only really want to cover my nose and not the rest of my face, if thats possible.

Thank you in advance

The most successful camouflage is actually green - sounds weird but it works. You can get this in the form of a stick (size of a lipstick) or in a moisturiser type cream. The downside to this is that you would have to use foundation on top and this would look better if you used foundation all over your face, and the green stuff on your nose. I think mineral foundation has a good reputation so you could possibly use the green concealer and then the mineral foundation just on your nose. You may have a mild form of rosacea - not a diagnosis, just a suggestion.

Or you could give up alcohol:(!

Hope this is of some help.

  • I use a green concealor to cover red areas (although different type of red to you), and it's great. If you want to try it without spending a lot then in Boots the Natural Collection range has one for £2! It's what I use day-to-day. It comes in a lipstick/concealor like tube.

I also use this green cream. I tend to use it on my cheeks as well as my nose as I blush a lot.

I use dermablend and it covers my acne scars really well, apparently it can be used to cover tattoos as well.

Roseacea here as well and I use a green corrective mineral from Elemental Beauty, and their mineral foundation

    Works really well
  • I would suggest using a mineral foundation like Bare Minerals.

I have some redness on my cheeks and chin which also gets worse when I drink wine and I start by apply some foundation with the maximum coverage concealer brush to the red patches and then going all over my face using either flawless application face brush or the full coverage Kabuki brush, blending in as I go.

It gives a really great finish, not mask like and you can build up more where you need it and use more sparingly where you don't. And there's no risk of ending up looking green (I did dabble with green stuff in the past but this works much better for me).

If you live anywhere near a store or stockist, go in and ask them to demonstrate on you - they usually will start by doing half your face so you can see the difference, and it really is quite stunning.

If you don't get on with their products, I think the key thing to know about mineral make up is that the coverage you get can vary massively according to the brush you use - I can't get the same effect using the standard foundation brush on the red areas, it's designed to give a sheerer coverage than those patches need.
  • I use green concealor for this purpose But is a temporary solution to your problem. To let this problem go for ever i will suggest you to use natural products for that.Make a proper diet plans and simply follow that to avoid facing some serious problem.
