CCJs and defaults please help me!

Options
Hi all
Be gentle with me i really need some advice

In my young and stupid days i had a debenhams storecard which i defaulted on and ge capital bank passed my debt to a company called cl finance who eventually took me court and gave a ccj (aug 2001). after obtaining a copy of my file through equifax i have found that the ccj is marked as satisfied(feb02) but the account itself is still at the default stage(not showing as settled)and had been sold to Aktiv kapital in 2003!!!!
Confused? not as much as me!
after speaking to aktiv kapital they say they have no record of this being payed which is why they are still pursuing me for the debt.so this morning i phoned cl finance who were the original debt collector and they say that i have never paid this debt off, even though my conversation with the courts say i have!
So what do i do? all i want is for this debt to be marked as settled but all the debt collection agencys appear to have 'lost' my payments.
and i have no proof as i moved around loads in my youth and never kept any paper work,i really dont know if i payed it or not but surely the court wouldnt make such a mistake to mark it as paid?

please help me clear this mess up i have written a letter to aktiv kapital with a copy of my credit report that shows the judgement as satisfied.

thanks in advance
Sparkey

I am not too sure what you can do, maybe check out one of the debt websites, national debt helpline etc as well as the credit report sites they should have a FAQ section

I would act as though its paid if the Courts say it has... Maybe contact the Information Commissioner complaining about CL & AK (both crap) and the IC will investigate.. However they may find you do still owe...

Ask the courts for a certificate of satisfaction. If its paid then they will provide you with one. If the ccj is marked as satisfied then it must have been paid. Nothing the DCAs can do. Tell em to take a hike when you have your letter from court. And yes also complain about them to the IC.
