Ok have let things slip A LOT lol

Which is a crime, because i worked my a$$ off last year to almost clear the debt (which i would have done if i hadnt invested it but never mind), but to be honest the debt free thing hasnt been as important to me for the last 6 months.

Well today that is changing.

My loan now is 8K, which mostly came under the business, which i am closing down my office, as I plan to be working away from home, for a good few months now.

Current Debt i will say is 8K

Today i applied for a savings account (The HSBC one, recommended here) and will be transferring 1K into that, thanks to gordon brown my wages were near what i expected (didnt help i was paid 2 lots at once so am probably in a higher bracket thanks to that), so i will have enough to live on and pay expenses etc after that without falling back into the OD.

Then I plan while I am working here to put 1K a month into the savings account from wages, which means i will be going back to the hermetic lifestyle of 2006 for a while, so it looks like it could take 8 months to be debt free (not counting the repayments).

Disapointing, but i think im now well aware of the real situation.

One plan I do have is to see if i can get a little extra work in the evenings fixing PCs, so will be placing an ad in some of the newsagents windows :)

    Debt-free and Proud!
Um, might just be my brain on a Friday afternoon, but why are you saving when you've got a loan? Or does the loan not allow overpayments so you've got to save up to settle it in full?

Welcome back to DFW anyway! :hello:

No overpayments possible im afraid, not too much difference in interest rates, ive just worked out on my spreadsheet at current spending i should be clear by october.

Hopefully any extra money i can earn will bring this closer.

Deja vu here, but never mind

Looks like your entrepid and handsome hero has had a setback.

It looks a probability that my contract will only last a further week after "budget problems" mean that may not be able to afford me.

Still you have to pay for the best.

Looks like ill be job hunting soon
