child maintanence as an income

No one seems to be able to anser my question.
Its looking like i will have an excess income on my soa.

I am entirely on benefits but also get about 400 a month in child maintenance. From what I have read this is classed as an income and can be ised to pay an ipa, is this correct? so in essence they could technically take up to £400 ipa ( in theory)

sorry i have posted loads but im caefully finalizing my forms for monday :/ scared

As you are on benefits you will not get an ipa. You can make up expenses to spend the child maintenance on the child to give the child a similar lifestyle if the other parent was still living with you.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

But as the OP states child maintenance is income not benefits, if there is excess surely she could get an IPA.
Or are you saying she makes up expenses so there is no spare , so technically committing fraud?

Am not sure what you are trying to say.

I'm saying spend it. Child maintenance is paid so that the child has a similar lifestyle if the other parent was still around. Not pretend expenses...actual expenses....Swimming lessons, gym classes, private out of hours tuition etc...
