Hi I've asked this question in the benefits and work section of the forum but if it is OK I'll ask her to.
My DLA is due for renewal end of February this year so with help I filled in the renewal pack late last year. I have a mobility car which was due to go back last year but they have extended the agreement to carry over to when the current DLA runs out.
Now the car dealership we got the car from as been phoning me to find out if I had heard anything so yesterday my wife phoned the DWP on my behalf to find out what was happening.
The lady on the telephone told my wife that my claim was going to the finalization department but from what she could see my application had stayed the same and I was to be kept on it indefinitely.
Today we've been looking at cars to keep ahead of ourselves but I do have the worry.
If they had refused my application I'm guessing the lady on the telephone would of told my wife she couldn't divulge the information over the phone and the information would be sent out to me?
Also if it had been refused would I not have received the letter back telling me this by now?
My wife asked her twice and the lady told her it "looked like" it had been kept the same. There would be no reason for her to get the information wrong or is there? Anybody else been in this conundrum before?

- sorry Andrew you are unnecessary well ahead of yourself
- looking is ok ............................. but currently
- you wouldn't get a~n~other car if you wanted one
- you have an extension to your existing lease, that's all
In other words at the point of signing an agreement and presenting your DLAHRM award as a payment vehicle, you can't, you don't have one. In fact you really don't have one for the vehicle you presently have. Just relax wait a few more weeks until you actually receive evidence of your award, which is the only currency a car dealership will accept.
Look up the meaning of the word .. .. indefinitely.
Motability extensions were stopped last year, maybe the garage is doing you a favour, whichever way your Motability payment is still going to the leasehire or the garage would have taken the car back, so relax.
Best of luck AndrewDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. But haven't you already had your ESA taken away from you Andy?I hope you are lucky.
I had my review (indefinite award) in November 2011 and they continued the HRM & MRC.
However my ESA has come up for review and I have just sent back the ESA50. Fully expect to get 0 points with the way I have done it (been in the support group for the past 3 years).
That failure should trigger another DLA review and I hope that I still keep it or the car has to go back!

I got Higher DLA but was refused my ESA,It doesn't seem right0
