Thanks for the bump.
I haven't used de Vere yet - (lost my job last year and then cancer within 6 weeks) - recovering from treatments but want to take family away for a treat - so this would be great but still m.s.e - thanks op.
For those De Vere aficienados are there any locations anyone can particularly recommend?
Thanks0 -

Thanks Tylers mum - was leaning to Chester as not too far - and fancy Jodrell bank etc. But still haven't taken kids to London yet so wondered about any down south with easy commute to London.:T
Small world - I live Wetherby way! Hope your Mum recovers quickly - I now have eyelashes and eyebrows again they've grown quickly but still have no need of shampoo - soon I hope .....:rotfl:So does your Mum get to visit Jimmy's or is it all done in York?

I stayed in four last summer and would only recommend East Horsley in Surrey. Not perfect for London but lots to do in the area e.g. theme parks, Hampton Court and lots of places to go shopping.
Whilst some of the others were awful, they enabled us to visit different areas that we would not have been able to afford otherwise. The free tea, coffee, fruit etc also helped is to save a bit.0 -

I would imagine other than the already mentioned Horsley Park , Latimer Place and Hunton Park are the nearest to London but they would be about 10 minute drive to the train station. Then from Watford Juntion about 25 minutes into central London. Fares into London would cost though - about £14 from Watford Junction for an all day travelcard. Although if you buy 4 tickets you only have to pay for 2.0 -
Regarding a Devere London stay, we stayed at the Devere Devonport house last year, located in the centre of Greenwich. It was quite easy to get into London, either on the Clipper boat (very pleasant ride, about 35 mins to Embankment) or via the DLR which were both only a few minutes walk away. Greenwich itself was also worth a visit and felt like a safe place to be.0
