I think I know who that Moneysaver is and I'm proud to call her my friend :kisses3: I only read back hours after it happened but I'm so glad she was there.

And if it is her, then I know she appreciated your message, Martin.

P.P.S. When I say cry, I mean my eyes went wet and I got a flush of emotion; not some great balling wail - I’ve at least a modicum of masculinity to protect.

    Thank you for the tale.

There is absolutely no shame in shedding a tear. If you men showed and shared your emotions a little more, the world would be a better place.

I'd love to read the thread in question if anyone has the link?

Just goes to show, there are still some good, decent people in society today.

I believe there are many, many acts of kindness which go on within these forums that are never actually mentioned publicly.

    That's a great blog entry! :T :T

That made me cry too...........! After regularly seeing,on the news, all the terrible things that people do to each other - it's good to hear that there are some people who make a big difference without wanting anything in return.

I was once in a similar situation without money or food and waiting for my benefits to start being paid. It was just before Christmas. I ended up bursting into tears in the local Jobcentre and a kind employee there took pity on me and sorted out my payments immediately. I only had to look out for myself and that was hard enough - so I can only imagine what it must have been like for someone with kids to look out for as well.

Hi - I write with tears in my eyes. There are such wonderful, caring, selfless people about - more than we know or hear about. We only hear or read of all the awful and terrible things people do using religion and other things as excuses. If we all smiled, did one small act of kindness, then what a much better world this would be. This may be a very simplistic view but let's start today - one smile at a time!

God bless whoever it was that did that selfless act - and God is whoever or whatever you want it to be.

when me and my family were having a really hard time after I split with my ex, and were struggling so hard with little money and a mountain of debts left by him, my library work colleagues surprised us at Christmas by filling a huge cardboard box with every sort of food essential, which lasted us for weeks, and then also used 'spare tea money' (yeah right) amounting to £40 of vouchers for anything they might have missed.....it really set us up for the year.....and now, a couple of years later we are almost debt free, with the help from Martins Money Tips (I finished paying off another debt yesterday)....and sleep the sleep of the content!
