Im considering making a tiramisu on friday and was wondering if anyone had a recipe thats easy to do. Gordon Ramsey has a recipe that looks easy to do but has anyone got a tried and tested 1.
PS im looking for ones that doesn't contain eggs.

Tried & tested would be the Il Tiramisu’ Legittimo delle Beccherie recipe which is the original tiramisu recipe that was created at a restaurant in Treviso in 1971.

This recipe does contain eggs though, if you don't put eggs in it then it is not tiramisu a bit like if you didn't put coffee in then it would revert to being zuppa inglese.0 -

Thanks for the link, didnt know if you didnt put eggs in then its not a tiramisu.0 -
If you don't include eggs then it is classed as a layered cake, although both tiramisu & zuppa inglese are both also classed as layered cakes they are distinct types based upon the ingredients used.0

Hi
I have used this recipe a number of times, although do use more biscuits

It doesn't include eggs, so isn't a 'true' tiramisu. It is however very easy to make.
I actually don't like coffee (!) so don't eat this version myself although have made for a number of friends and family and they all love it - it is often requested by my husband! I make a separate version for myself (with chocolate)
I have also used brandy instead of Marsala with no complaints.0 -
this is how I do mine....
put some sponge in a dish, pour over strong expresso coffee mixed with sherry or marsala wine. Mix together marscapone cheese and custard (half and half) pour over, grate some dark choc and repeat another layer of sponge and cheese/custard.
Sprinkle cocoa powder before serving. I is infinitely better if you leave it overnight for the flavours to develop.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

I have made the Gordon Ramsey one both in individual glasses and in a large dish very easy to do and very tasty needs to be made same day though. I used Mr T's 'tia maria' and instant espresso hth0

I do a bit like DH. Make a small mug of strong black coffee, let it cool then put a good glug of rum or brandy (I know it should be marsala but...) Dip sponge fingers in the coffee mixture and line the bottom of your dish. Then cover with a mixture of 500g mascapone and 1 tin of condensed milk mixed together. More dipped sponge and cheese /cond milk to layer then sprinkle cocoa or grated choc on top.
Chill.
Tastes even better after a couple of days.0
