AAT study! At least one mock exam

So all in all, not a very productive day. I did manage to nap too, which was needed after a terrible week last week and waking up really early every day.

Job app is going... okay. Am on the 'personal statement' bit now. Its funny because I read so many applications at work, and always have loads of advice / feedback but when it comes to doing my own, my mind goes blank!

Think I'm going to save and go back to it in the morning.

Other than that, has been a NSD again today, which is good!

And finally got payment for an E-ay item I sold over a week ago. I try so hard to be nice, but people seem to always want to abuse it. Oh well, still managed another little payment to CC and Hols fund.

Been doing relatively well with Swagbucks today too. Am a few days away from my 4th £5 payout since 1st Jan. :T :T

Am hoping to have £50 overpayment on CC and £50 more in hols fund by the end of the month. Should be manageable if I carry on with these NSD. Although I have remembered its mums bday soon, and isn't mothers day this month too???

Going to have to get more stuff on E-ay I think! x
  • Have been pretty spending naughty today - went out for breakfast with OH then to the chinese supermarket where they were giving out these amazing dumplings, so we ended up buying 2 packs of those too. Total spend: £26.84

BUT.. got home and I blitzed the wardrobe (which was chaos!!) and found lots of bits to put on E-ay. So after I've updated that is what I will be doing with my evening

On the plus side, the money I have been spending this weekend hasn't been from my budget as a friend returned money she owed me. I lent it to her months ago before my LBM and therefore didn't even think about wanting it back, let alone actually getting it back.

I have put a bit towards the CC too!

Anyway, I'm off to the land of E-ay!

    xx
  • So E-ay going okay so far.

Got 7 things listed, and am hoping for at least £25 for it all. Have a few more bits but it gets very boring after a while!

Work tomorrow, so not ready to go back! Weekends never last long enough :( Especially when OH has been working both days so have barely had any time together.

Made my first ever homemade chicken stock today. Had roast chicken yesterday so used the carcass of that.

The results were okay, and were helped with miso paste I had in the cupboard (which has been in there for AGES so was glad to use it!) and made Chicken miso noodle soup. It was really tasty!!!

This week needs to be a cheap one!!! Dinner today will also be dinner tomorrow, so thats already saved money!

Am thinking cheese and pitta bread for lunch too, which I got in last weeks shop so that will mean no extra money either.

Actually, I'm gonna say it.. tomorrow will be a No Spend Day. :A Its out there now, so it has to happen! ;)
  • As a follow on from tomorrow's no spend plan.

This month I'm going to aim for 15 NSD's. This includes yesterday. Will add this to my signature in a sec.

The only spending allowed on these days will be from the change pot we have.. which never has more than a few pounds in it. This will only be for food essentials but I'm hoping to be more organised than to run out of anything.

Really need to start thinking of a creative man friendly v-day gift for OH.
  • Not much to update today. Work was good, first time in over a week I could concentrate for the whole day. All without smoking too :j :T

Ebay isn't doing great so far. No bids and very few watchers. Oh well, guess its only been a day. We'll see!

Did a bit of food shopping today, spend just over £11, which should last until Friday now.

Have realised something pretty cool today. The holiday this summer will be the first one in about 10 years that will be paid for by real saved money, not credit. That feels REALLY good! Even in the past when I have had the money (there was a time when I had 3 jobs at the same time!) I still insisted on having an even better holiday and still putting some of it on the CC. This time, this will NOT happen.

Also, managed another £5 on Swagbucks today :):) Thats £20 since Jan 1st! x
  • Today marks day 5 of no smoking!

Although I have pretty much consumed my body weight in crisps, I'm still happy! :rotfl:

Money wise I've been managing my payments a day, whether it be £0.64 or £8.00 its still something, and I still feel very positive that this will be the first month my CC won't get any angry charges and the interest won't bring me over my limit. Which means, I will finally be able to make a dent on the actual debt. :jI will count up how much I've actually overpaid a bit later.

Also holiday fund has hit the £250 mark! Am deffinately on track to buy flights in March.

Not been doing much this week although have ovrespent a bit on food supplies (due to the no smoking mainly, which I'm fine with).

Not checked e-ay yet today, although as of last night it wasn't going great. Its very annoying as the money I expected to make, I want!! :rotfl:

Oh well, it still has a few days so you never know!

Also remembered I have expenses to claim from work, so will make sure I do that tomorrow.

Off to make burgers now.. yummy xx
  • Have been very rubbish with money recently, but today marks day 8 of no smoking! This included 2 nights out drinking, one in my home town so am VERY happy with myself for that!

In terms of spending, the holiday fund is £60.00 lighter after the weekend but at least its my money i'm spending and not borrowed from a credit card!

Have managed to pay quite a bit off my CC this month too, so at least from now on all my extra payments will go towards the balance and not just the interest and charges.

Made £21.00 from E-ay last week so not far off target I guess. The plus side is that it is all stuff I would have just thrown out if it didn't sell, so every little bit helps!

Made a bit with surveys etc too, which is still split 50/50 CC and holiday fund.

    xxx
  • Well done on your no smoking - especially on your nights out! I'm sure that was hard. I hope it gets easier for you :)

You're making great progress - keep up the good work! :D

  • Thank you HAW. Apart from these strange moments when I forget I don't smoke and get up from my desk to have one (and then promtly stop myself and reach for the Haribo!) I seem to be feeling good about it. I can deffo see myself becoming one of these awful reformed smokers that are really smug about not smoking anymore. :o
  • really smug about not smoking anymore. :o

    and why not?! ;)
