Redundancy questions.

My company operates from various locations in the UK and there is a possibility my position may be relocated. I am definitely not able to move with it. So, if the company does not offer me an alternate post in the curent location, is redundancy their only option? Will I receive any kind of minimum payout by law? I am a permanent employee and been here 2.5 years.

Thanks in advance.

As you have worked there for more than 2 years you will get a payment although you wont get much under the government rules. Have a look here it gives you all the info you need

ACAS Website has a fair bit of info. If they cannot relocate you or offer you suitable alternative employment at your current base then you are looking at redundancy.

Depends on your contract. Mine (civil service) obliges me to go and work anywhere in the UK they want me to (with some get out clauses if, eg, children at a critical point in education, sick parents to look after etc).
Theoretically if I say "hell no we won't go" its misconduct, displinary & P45 time
