As many of you know... i've gone and :eek:broke my foot:eek:, so myself and my MOH are looking at alternative Hen Night ideas.

We were going to do an It's a Knock Out afternoon and Go Ape, however obviously that is out the window now.

DO you have any ideas that doesn't involve a lot of moving about? So far we've come up with cocktail making classes - I like this idea as whatever we make we could serve at the wedding as a 'Mr & Mrs Jones Cocktail', make our own chocolate... but that's all we can think of.

I'm not keen on the meal and drinks idea, and if we went to a hotel with a meal and entertainment I wouldn't be able to get up and dance.

Any ideas?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Sorry you broke your foot! How annoying!

Are you in a cast that must be kept dry?

My hen night can't be energetic as I have ME so thats most things out, but a spa is ideal for me. If you don't have a cast it might be worth considering? If you are in a cast, what about having a pampering session (facials and manicures, either DIY or at a spa/salon) followed by a meal (Afternoon tea at a posh hotel could be a bit different?) or something like chocolate/wine tasting?

You could also use the time to get everyone to help you with making favours etc ;)

Just a couple of thoughts :) Love your cocktail idea tho!

Yes a dry cast, hopefully moving to an airboot?? but not sure as yet. One of the bones I broke takes around 4-5months to weightbare and as the wedding is 5 months yesterday :T there's a good chance I may not be mobile........ A pamper session would be nice, but if we can't lounge around between treatments we're really not spending time together (iykwim?).

Afternoon tea would be a good idea to space the day out though, might look ino that, thanks.

We're not having favours so that wouldn't work. Plus I'm ultra organised so all the wine glass charms are made, posters made, signing frame done, top tip tree done etc... why am I so organised...:rotfl:

How about something crafty? I've seen various things ranging from making fascinators/bunting to painting pottery etc. Should all be possible whilst sitting!

Fingers crossed for you to be mobile in time for your wedding!

Ok, I've been thinking about this a bit more, heres a couple more suggestions:
    - Horse and cart ride with big snuggly blankets and champagne
    - How about a river cruise? They often provide a meal and bar too, there seems to be something like this in most areas of the UK
    - Evening at the theatre - let them know in advance that you have broken your foot and need an accessible seat!
    - Re the spa/pampering, a mobile therapist could come to one of your homes so you are all together whilst she is doing the treatments with nibbles and drinks.
    - Ceramics cafe, you all sit round the table and paint plates or ornaments and whatnot which are then glazed/fired for you to keep as mementos. Most of these places are used to hen parties so might have some fun ideas! Its also mainly seated as they usually bring cakes and drinks to you.

How about you stay in and get drunk? By the end of the night all your friends will be legless anyway and you won't be the odd one out.
  • Ann Summers party and a mobile therapist followed by a posh takeaway? All, of course, washed down with plenty of wine ;)
