How desperately do you want to search -not just sort by - end date?

because if you changed the date format in the title from

E: 31/12 win this, that or the other

to
E: 31DEC12 .....

you could use the forum search to pick out all ending 31Dec12, and none other.

This would also work using the existing date format and including the new format anywhere in the title, for example

E: 31/12 win this, that or the other 31DEC12

I'd love it of there was an RSS feed from it. For in browser comping I don't think it adds value. What would be great is to improve the filtering of the main board to include/exclude posts by tick/cross/neither

Remember, a lot of posters do not use the 'new' end date (or add any end date at all) so a lot of competitions are going to be missed by people using this new system.

It looks good but I'd much prefer some buttons that automatically sorted into end dates. I like the green tick and thanks buttons, that works for me.

I do like this idea as the search function ignores the e: and / would help end of daters remove the future comps from the list, especially on the 1/1 2/2 3/3 dates and the e: ?/? win 5 in the list

Thanks very much for taking the time to work on this, but i would not use it. i am happy with the board the way it is especially with the new ticks and crosses! revolutionised my comping, thanks so much!

New user here!

I think the present system just needs the closing date changing - for example today's date:-

Old system E: 10/01/13 needs changing to E: 13/01/10. ie YEAR-MONTH- DAY.

This way, when you sort comps by title, the earliest (ie todays) dates will always be starting on page 1.

I like this idea as I have major problems searching for comps ending on a specific date and find filtering the forum by end date a pain in the bum! This looks simple and easy to use.

I'd still use the main board too and it would be more helpful it it was possible to list the comps in true date order instead of the way it's done now.

I don't think I'd use it either but I'm not sure if that's just because it's new. Like others I really rely on the ticks, crosses and the ability to hover over the title to see details of the competition.

I think it would be better to develop the current forum further instead and I really like some of the ideas already mentioned such as changing the date format to YY/MM/DD and more sort options. For example the most useful thing for me would be to be able to exclude all competitions that I have ticked or crossed.
