Self Assessment - Previous Years Mileage

Hello

I am in the process of finishing my SA for 2011/12.

I will be claiming tax relief on mileage for the year. I also have previous years' mileage yet to claim. I am still within the time to claim it....

...but I don't know how? Do I just add the expenses all together and submit that single figure in my 2011/12 SA?

Or do I submit just my 2011/12 miles in this year's SA, and handle previous years' miles another way?

Thank you in advance.
Eric.

You can submit tax returns for prior years as well as this year. If you had no compulsion to fill one out you won't be penalized for filling it in late.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • Thanks... so I submit individual returns for each previous year.

    Next question:...........

In my online SA account, I selected to submit a previous year's return, but the year drop-down only gives me the option of 2011/12?

I only registered for SA in August 2011.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Eric
