When you ask for a 1m cable *DO* be 100% sure that 1m is long enough - made that mistake with my folks' upscaling DVD ->TV and bought a 1m cable when in reality a 1.5m was needed and actually 1.8m cable was preferable (eg allowing for ability to pull the DVD out of the shelving without the cable falling out).
You are 100% right to be looking for a CHEAP cable even if you have the highest resolution 1080p setup.
