My PC froze in the middle of a system restore. I had no alternative but to turn it off at the source.
I now cannot boot up at all !!
I have tried to boot up using the F8 key and that doesn't work. I am at a loss as to what to do..apart from throw the damn thing out of the window !!
I am operating on Windows 7.

not much information to go on.
why were you system restoring
try all F8 options
make/model?
reinstall windows or factory restore should work, but will wipe all data
backup in future http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx!!

AMD Athlon 11
I had restored backed up files from a clickfree device onto a brand new computer.
There was some sort of conflict and it kept freezing.
How do you do a factory restore...as nothing works at all now ?When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -

re-install the os over the existing one.
You may want to do a restore over the new installation, but if it goes bad, then you know that your backup does not perform in a way you want it to.
Am of the jaded opinion that most usb backup devices just restore things like mp3, docs and pictures. Generally they do not fully backup the o/s and often can not handle locked files or system files and partitions.
Macrilum reflect the free version as mentioned is very good, so is clonezilla but a bit more techie. I use DriveImage XLM, but you had better know what you are doing when you restore with this s/w.0
