Go to the shops vs online.

Options
Hi.

Am a relative newbie to this budgeting and meal planning. I have visited a lot of threads lately where a lot of people shop online.

My question is do i shop online for the week and pay £5 for delivery (even if it is a small amount) or do i go to the local supermarket with my list and get tempted and spend more than i should.

Bit of a catch 22 for me . I was wondering how everbody else felt and any experience passed on would be gratefully recieved.

Don't quite know what to do for the best.

Thanks

ym

I would say it depends how much you spend at the supermarket that would be avoided if you bought it online.

Also if you shop online and its over a certain amount there are various online codes to get £5 off - maybe if you couldn't spend the minimum spend for the codes in one week you could shop fortnightly, if that would work for you.

    Hi yellowmonkey,

As this is more of a shopping question than Old Style, I'll move your thread over to the Shop but don't drop board.

To find discount codes for shopping online check out the Discount Codes 'n Vouchers (online & offline) board.

I would say its less hastle to shop online ie no queues,no grumpy check out ops,no lugging heavy shopping, etc plus it saves me money in the long run as im not tempted by items i dont need.
