Help/ suggestions needed for ceremony

To cut a long story short, we dithered too much on putting down a deposit on a location for our ceremony and it's no longer available.

We wanted to do the ceremony at a National Trust location and then have a seperate reception elsewhere, but now our choice is fully booked and we've missed out on a lovely location.

Does anyone know of somewhere that would be ideal for a small wedding ceremony in the Sussex area that might be similar i.e greenery and flowers, but isn't likely to be heaving with visitors as we're looking to get married in July (it's a weekday so hopefully that may help)?

I've tried google and not much is coming up thats not insanely expensive for just a ceremony. I'm hoping some other couple on here had theirs somewhere similar in a quiet, yet pictureseque location for their wedding or perhaps even attended one they could recommend.

It's my own fault, I accept that, but hoping to find a nice place where we could have our ceremony instead so I don't end up just post-poning the whole thing a year which I really don't want to do.

  • Does it have to be in July? Have you asked about say September? Nowadays that seems to be still quite warm and if this year was anything to go by, it will be drier than July!

My venue sounds perfect for you - we're having a Friday wedding in a National Trust property but alas it's in Cambridgeshire. Wishing you lots of good luck - have you worked your way through the list of approved venues for Sussex?

  • Gadgeteer, our anniversary is in July so yes, I'd like it then for sentimental reason as does my OH.

Katy84, I might keep trying other NT locations and see if I have any luck with somewhere not too far out. We're thinking about putting the wedding back a year now as we really wanted that location for it. We've been together for 11 years, another years wait won't hurt if it comes to it.
