in Cutting tax
Having followed martins steps in 1991 our band should have been a band D we are paying band E we contacted our local council they say they dont go off the calculator on martins instructions, and say the only way to reduce our band is to go to the library and try to find a similar house around 1991 in Band D and supply that evidence ? is this right ? they say i cant appeal.

You need to speak the your local Valuations office for advice, the council have no say in the bandings and only use the details provided by the VO.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
