Break-company policy versus law

I drive a 3.5T van, no passengers. My daily route is 7.5 hours, I'm probably driving for just over half of that, the rest of the time with customers. We have a daily break of 20 minutes planned into the route. I sometimes take it, depends on how the day is going.
I could park in a layby for half an hour as well as still take a 20 minute break then get O/T but I don't. Are you not your own boss whilst out on the road?
If you want a break just take one!0 -
Well if I have mis-read it then I apologise however thats not the way it came across.
To me it came across in the opening post that he was trying to wangle a longer break. In the next post he says its an extra 100 hours a year as if he's trying to gain from it.
Sorry but if you want people to see what you're getting at you don't give a vague description, you give a clear one with your objectives.0 -
The company policy to take a break could well be classed as a safety policy.
Not adhearing to safety procedures can be deemed as gross misconduct and a sackable offence.0
