website says free delivery(ive been charged)

Please can someone help me with the following.

I have ordered an item from a website which clearly states Free 48hr delivery.
I have been charged for the delivery and it has taken nearly 14 days to dispatch my order which at the time of ordering said it was in stock!

Is there someone I can contact regarding this such as trading standards e.t.c
They have already taken the money out of my account over a week ago.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.:mad:

Have your emailed or rung them to query the charge? You should try to resolve it with the seller before going to trading standards and if you dont get anywhere tell them you are going to report them

You must try to resolve the matter with the website first. Trading standards will only get involved as a last resort..

Thanks to all

I have tried to contact them by phone and they keep fobbing me off saying the person I need to speak too is not in and will phone me back. (I have phoned 3 times yesterday) I also have sent 10 emails over the past week and have not one reply, the irony is the invoice from the company turned up today in the post!!

The most annoying thing is when a website advertises 48hr delivery like this website. They were slightly more expensive than other websites but I didn't mind paying the little extra if they could deliver in 48hrs. Since its now been over 8 days and finally i have been told today that it will arrive on Monday (fingers crossed) so I will have to stay in another day awaiting delivery.

If I knew they were not going to deliver in the 48hrs as advertised on their website then I would have ordered it from someone else and got it slightly cheaper.** A valuable lesson learnt **
