I saw a piece if wall art recently that was made using twisted willow ( I think) and want to buy some and have a go! Does anyone have any ideas of where to buy it?

It sounds like a contorted willow, but I think you can get hazel as well. A friend used to have a tree, she would have happily given you some! Maybe that's the thing to do, see if you can spot any in gardens and beg a little? I guess you will be able to get some from a florist but maybe at a price!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Yes, you'll find the hazel in a lot of florists soon as the catkins start to grow but it will be expensive.
Might be worth putting an ad on freegle/freecycle to see if anyone is pruning theirs.0 -

My Dad makes lots of things out of willow and cherry wood, he usually finds it and just asks the land owner's permission to take some. 9 times out of 10 he gets it free or for a bit of beer money.0
