Gambling while claming Benefits

What was it that was in the news last week, something about all benefits to be paid on some sort of card to stop the money being wasted on booze; ciggies; and gambling.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

OP are you gambling or are you matched betting? They are two completely different things.0

But as other have pointed out it is not gambling.
It is, at its simplest, placing carefully calculated "bets" on BOTH players in a match where one or other must win. Providing you have calculated the amounts correctly there will be a small profit regardless of which player wins. The risks are getting your sums wrong or having a computer breakdown before the second bet is placed.
There are also similar but more complex options for horse races and other competitions where there are more than two possible results. It depends on how different bookmakers have chosen to set their odds in order to attract business.
You could argue, done right, that there is significantly less risk than buying any kind of equity investment.
Currently this forum seems to be full of people commenting on things they know nothing about!0 -
That's right....there is a minor element of risk...a bookie may not pay out on winnings. The computer might crash between the back and the lay and the backed team/horse loses before the computer restarts.
And...most of all you need money to back and lay with. It is not recommended if you have no money at all.
Another risk (perhaps a bit more common, in my experience) is that the odds move between placing a bet and laying it off. I lost a tenner or so yesterday as a result
No big deal - profits were well over a tenner last week - but could be more of a problem if you're short of cash. 0 -
I'd heard of matched betting but haven't got a clue what it was.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
