Can I keep a cooked casserole out on the worktop?

Options
I'm trying to be organised and frugal so I've made a chicken casserole for tomorrow night. (Stops me getting in from work and ordering takeaway!) As it's just come out of the oven, will it be ok to leave on the worktop because I can't put it in the fridge until it cools.

My plan is to re heat it thoroughly tomorrow before serving. Would it be best to put in the fridge in the morning maybe?

Thanks in advance.

Oops.

I would say it depends on how warm your house is. Mine freezing so I would be happy to leave it out.
Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.
  • I stuck things out in the car over Christmas when I didn't have enough space in the fridge, not that its been as cold as last year.

My kitchen is freezing cold at night and I leave food in my casserole dishes and pots. Never had food poisoning yet lol x
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

My house is quite warm but was thinking if I put it on the windowsill it might be ok. I know DH has had roast dinners left out (covered) and been ok because he doesn't like fridged things!

I might risk it and I like the idea of the car!!

    Thank you.

ETA - my house of course is not actually warm overnight - d'oh! The heating is off!
Will definitely risk it. If I don't report back tomorrow then advise everyone else not to risk it!!!
