Nah, it's a global problem that the patch didnt fix.

Maybe quad-core users will have better luck! (I find it odd though considering Halflife2 looks miles better but runs incredibly smoothly!)

I guess that's the difference in having well written code/engine compared to one that isn't. HL2 runs quite well on my Athlon XP 1800, 256MiB Geforce 5700, 2 MiB DDR machine, so it's pretty scalable. Whereas it sounds like Stalker's X Ray engine is pretty badly written even for high end machines.

Im more interested in seeing what the new CryEngine looks like in "Crysis" (out in june I think!). It's meant to be amazing!
