I am trying to play 'Stalker:Shadow of Chernobyl' on my PC. It appeared to load OK onto my computer, but when I click the icon on my desktop it comes up with this error message...
Page file is disabled or the page file set is too small.
To make the game work correctly the page file of 2GB is required. Please make all the necessary changes to the system configuration before launching the game again.
I have Windows XP, can anyone help me out and tell me how I do what they are asking above??
Thanks for any help.

What are your system specs, specifically how much RAM do you have and what is your graphics card?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hi, thanks for responding so quickly. The Ram is 512 but I don't know what the graphics card is. Can you tell me how I can find this out?
Sorry to be a pain, but I don't play these games, I'm trying to sort it out for someone else who isn't around just now.
Thanks again.0 -
Hi, I have found out that the graphics card is -NIDIA GE Force FX5200 and the system spec is a 1.83GHz processor.
Thanks0 -
Looks like your system is too low a spec...
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
Microsoft® Windows® XP (Service Pack 2) / Microsoft® Windows® 2000 SP4
Processor type : Intel Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz / AMD XP 2200+
512 MB RAM
10 GB available hard drive space
128 MB DirectX® 8.0 compatible card / nVIDIA® GeForce™ 5700 / ATI Radeon® 9600
DirectX® 9.0 compatible sound card
LAN/Internet connection with low latency Cable/DSL speeds for multiplayer
Keyboard, Mouse
Looks like your processor and Graphics card are below minimum spec0 -
yup you don't stand much chance of running that game or at least not running it very well. For a game like that I'd say a min of 1gb ram pref 2gb and a fairly high end card.0

Ok this game will kinda eat your system. My specs are 512mb nvidia, 2gb ram, intel core 2 duo 1.7ghz, and it runs really really slowly.. Dont get this game, its a jokeCashback
Total Quidco since 2007: £166.64
Total TCB since 2012: £398

intresting ..sounds like you need Alienware or XPS type spec then just to be up to speed.
How does Half life 2 play on your system by way of comparison ??Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Stalker is well known in geek communities for running really badly even on the very best PCs out there. I also have a Core 2 Duo with 2Gb and a dual SLI graphics - but it still runs like a dawg sometimes.
Halflife 2 runs beautifully on my machine fully, with resolution and all parameters set to the highest they can go. It's a great game!
The other guy is right - steer clear of Stalker. It aint that great anyway...Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -
Thanks to all of you for responding.
Well it seems like this game is gonna end up on e-bay!!
Either that or splash out on a new computer... I wish!!
Cheers Guys!!0 -
I have a Quad Core Xeon 2.66Ghz, 4GB Ram and a 512MB X1950 and it still runs like a dog0
