unusual sized pictures frames (24 cm x 33 cm pic)

Hello,

I have a few prints which are 24 cm x 33 cm (a bit bigger than A4) which I would like to frame. I can't find frames this size available anywhere, let alone at a reasonable price. Does anyone have any thought on where I could get them cheap? They don't have to be good quality, just the right size!

My local Poundland does frames which are decent enough, but unfortunately the biggest size they do is A4 which is definitely a bit too small.

If you have an ikea near you, it might be worth checking there. They have the most random sizes of frames there! You could also buy one that's a little too big all the way round and get a framing shop to cut you a mount board to fit both the frame and the picture. I've got bigger sized frames in tesco, m&s and sainsburys so check their websites too.
  • ... but on frame sizes, 40 x 30 cm is a standard size. It's the metric equivalent of 16 x 12" (which is actually about 40.6 x 30.5 cm). Either of these sizes would give you an almost even border if you had mounts cut.

You should be able to find this size in places like IKEA, or some Wilkinsons. If you have a local framing shop, also try them, as some stock inexpensive, ready made frames.

There is also a standard size which is 14 x 11" (35.6 cm x 28 cm) which could be made to work with a mount, but your pictures might look a little cramped in this?

There are lots of online sites that offer made to measure picture frames, which is a lot cheaper than you might imagine.

In most cases good picture framers make frames to order even if they are a "standard" size, so making something a little out of the ordinary is only a case of cutting different lengths of framing material.

    Hope that helps :)

Of course it isn't ok to spam your crappy website. Didn't you read the forum rules when you signed up?

I've managed to find mounts with non standard picture sizes in Dunelm Mill before now, and ive also dropped on in charity shops, its just a case of changing the crappy picture thats usually in the frame, happy hunting :)
