Best Thing For Cleaning The Oven ?

Options
Hi Guys

Sorry if this is in the wrong place firstly.

I'm looking for the best thing to clean an oven with. I've used these packet things, and different cleaning fluids but nothing seems to get it properly clean - glass door included.

I thought the ''old fashioned'' thread might be a good place to ask, as my Nana always used to know the best ways of doing things - obviously the old ways are the best :D

Thanks in Advance

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Any chance you can get hold of a steam cleaner? I HATE cleaning the oven but since we got a steamer, it's been downright bearable. :rotfl:

Fantastic for defrosting the freezer too - highly recommended!

Ah if only, I'm trying to be a tightwad this year to get some stuff done around the house (big jobs), hence me needing something good and cheap!

If only I had access to one - I'd also have a clean chimney ;)

Possibly, I think the parentals may have one. Would it be OK in an electric oven? Forgot to mention that, but not sure if it would make a difference ?

I used Oven Pride on my oven, I never knew the shelves were meant to be shiney silver beforehand! :D

Lovely and clean, really simple to use.

I think you should be okay; probably best to be a bit careful where you aim the pressurised steam but I don't see that it would be a problem otherwise. And you're not introducing chemicals, so no smell when you next use the oven.

I use bi-carb mixed with a little warm water and scrub. If it's really bad, leave the bi-carb paste on over night.

Astonish from Lakeland. It's brilliant stuff and, i think, not full of nasty chemicals.
