I have some leftover three bird roast in the freezer which I'm planning to reheat for a roast dinner tomorrow, can anybody tell me, please, the best way to go about it?
It's already sliced and wrapped in tin foil in the freezer. Should I cook from frozen? Allow to defrost (I didn't freeze it until the day after Boxing Day?) Cook in the foil or take out and cover with gravy to stop it drying out?
All advice appreciated, thanks!

I'd leave it to defrost and then reheat it gently in the gravy.0

Thanks, Dunroamin, it's not going to go off as I've already had it in the fridge for 2 days previously though, is it? And I'm guessing in a covered dish with the gravy?Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I can't tell whether it will have gone off, but reheating in a covered dish, under gravy, is the way I'd do it. Have you considered using the microwave? It takes less energy if nothing else is going in the oven.0

Hell, that would be quite a feat via the internet! :rotfl:
I was just worried that, if it needs to be used within 3 days of cooking, the 2 days it was in the fridge after cooking might count towards the 3 days then another day defrosting would take it up to the 3 days IYSWIM?
I've taken it out and I'll give it a sniff before cooking, I'll go for the gravy method in the oven as I'll be cooking potatoes/carrots etc anyway.

I think I'd be happy with that time scale, and I am fussy. I read to much and am my own worst enemy
Throughout the year I roast a chicken (we have turkey at the moment - surprise)Freeze in portions after roasting. We have the chicken for tea on sundays usually. So Saturday night I take a portion of chicken out of the freezer and pop in fridge. (Turkey is there as we speak)
Tomorrow night I tip the turkey/chicken in a pyrex, make bisto and pour over. I re-heat at gas mark 6 for 30 minutes by which time its bubbling away like a volcano. You can add leeks to this which makes it very nice.
During the summer we have the defrosted chicken as it is with salad and potatoes. You don't actually need to re-heat it if you don't want to.0 -
I usually steam sliced cooked meat to keep it moist - some in my house do not like gravy.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
