Sainsburys online and instore price difference.

Went into my local sainsburys superstore in Victoria today and was shocked at the price hike of their basics plum tomatoes and basics kidney beans!
They were at 0.31 and 0.18 respectively before but now raised to 0.35 and 0.21.
Checked both mysupermarket and sainsburys.co.uk and they are still showing the old prices.
Are they allowed to simply raise the prices? Can I request for a refund in the price difference?

I know it seems only a little bit of a difference but being really tight on my wallet now but these little things add up!

Yes, they can put prices up or down as they wish, there is nothing to stop them charging what they like for whatever they like.

Nothing stopping you from requesting a refund, but, again, they do not have to refund.

Sainsbury's website was showing 2.48 for organic Weetabix when they were 2.69 in my local store. Respect Organics carrot cake is 1.80 in my local Sainsbury's this week, 2.30 in the one nearest to my mother.

Trading Standards tell me all shops can charge different prices for the same product in individual stores.

Yes, nothing illegal in that at all, similarly charging different prices for in store vs online.
