My mum told me about an article she had seen in the paper the other day and it got me to thinking
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2255216/Extreme-recycler-fills-just-ONE-rubbish-bag-year-making-resolution-use-waste-can.html
I was thinking about how i think i'm doing a really good job by filling my blue bin / brown bin / red bag / orange bag / blue bag and only putting my black bin out once every 2/4 weeks, but after hearing about this i got to thinking about how this would be possible.
So my thread is called
'What can i do with...' and i thought maybe people could post ideas for what we can do with things which we would ordinarily throw away.
Maybe it has more to do with the choices we make about what we buy and bring into our home, like only bying loose fruit and veg not prepacked? What do others think?
I think travelling to other cities to recycle certain items is a bit extreme and probably creates more pollution than if he'd just burnt the items in his garden but i take my hat off to the man for being dedicated.

Pinterest is full of some fab 'upcycling' ideas
E.g. http://pinterest.com/candywhiting/upcycled-milk-jugs-and-soda-bottles/

(OK, water bottle slippers look a little extreme to me, but some of the stuff on there is fab!)0 -
Those are fab sites, i love the wind spinners made from pop bottles. Also the second link you put up i love love love the use of the plastic bottle top to then seal opened bags, and the snowflakes from pop bottle bottoms are amazing!
