I contacted my previous lender and was told that because I exited before 2006 I am not entitled to any fees back this was with GMAC has anybody had the same answer???

Write to them and ask for a letter of deadlock, as you intend to pursue the mcomplaint with the FOS.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
