I think he is doing you a favour. If its still the case that Food Poisoning is a notifiable illness, Environmental Health would have to be informed, the cause established and then you would need to get medical proof that you are free of it and are ready to return to the workplace without passing it on.0

On a self certificate you should put symptoms only and no diagnosis unless you have been diagnosed by a doctor.0
