Hi Chum,
It was a lucky guess! The official link which you'd provided from the paper (www.scotsman.com/myraildeal) wasn't going to be activated until 9 a.m. this morning so I just experimented with old links from previous promos until I found one that worked so we could get in before the stampede at 9 o'clock!
I managed to book a trip to York for £10 each way from Edinburgh. Great saving. Thanks again for posting!

Sorry to hear.....contact details for paper are at bottom of link, I'm sure they'll send a replacement
Also you can get back issues so may be a method for others wanting to use offer and want a copy of the paper.
Hope this helps

I don't really get this. I travel by East Coast quite often and these prices seem a lot more than the price I normally pay. Is it that there are only a handful of cheap tickets and once they are gone they are gone. Otherwise, it's a bit of a ruse to get you to go onto their website. I'd be interested to know how many people get a £25 return to London from up t'north. I'm very sceptical about train offers. They tend to have so many strings attached they are unuseable.0

Hi Jelly Tots
I booked in advance online and I travelled in november mid week from Edinburgh to London and my fare was £110 second class. The person next to me had paid less than half.
It shouldn't be necessary to hunt for a fair deal on simply booking a ticket.Chum
